LETTER & POEM WRITER SERVICE
Bring Words to Life by Starting Your Own Letter and Poem Writing Service.
“Create with the heart; build with the mind.”
― Criss Jami
Not everyone is gifted with the ability to weave words together, are they?
Some people just freeze up when they try to express how they feel. It’s like their brain turns to – nothing makes sense (been there, right?).
But if you’re someone who gets it, someone who can take those messy, jumbled thoughts and turn them into something that sparkles, well, that’s not just a talent. It’s practically a superpower. And you could definitely use it.
Imagine this: a small service, something simple to start with. You call it… I don’t know, The Wordsmith’s Workshop or maybe something more quirky like Letters With Love, names are hard, aren’t they?
Anyway, people come to you with their wishes,
- “I need to tell my best mate that he’s like a brother to me,” or
- “Help! My girlfriend deserves a poem, but I can hardly spell her name”.
You sit down with them (maybe over a cuppa or, let’s be honest, a flat white or tea) and they just pour out their feelings while you take notes. It’s really messy, raw and honest stuff. That’s the good part.
You take all that (those tangled emotions) and turn it into magic. A heartfelt love letter that’s like a little symphony in words, or a poem that could make even the toughest rugby guy shed a tear.
You might even surprise yourself by tapping into something universal yet personal (like the sound of waves on the beach, or the way birds’ songs echo in the morning).
You’d be using their voice, not yours, but polished like a dusty jewel suddenly caught in the light.
Oh, and here’s the thing, this isn’t just about words on a page. It’s about connecting, about making people feel seen.
- That thank-you note to a teacher who changed someone’s life? That could end up framed on their wall.
- Or maybe the apology letter you help someone write will mend a friendship that’s been broken for years.
Who knows?
Words can change everything. Or at the very least brighten someone’s day for a moment. The funny thing is, you’d probably learn a lot too. People have the wildest stories, some sad, some funny and some you’ll carry with you forever.
I remember this guy once said to me,
“A letter is like a snapshot of the soul”.
It stuck with me, but I never quite worked out whether he was being poetic or just making fun of me. Doesn’t matter though, because it’s true, isn’t it?
And honestly, you’d have a great time. Some of the work might get repetitive. How many “roses are red” love poems can you write before you go mad? But then there are the weird ones. Someone might want a letter to their future self or a poem inspired by the sound of sheep grazing in the distance (it could happen. I’m in New Zealand after all).
And you? You’d take up the challenge. And why not?
Look, life is short and words are powerful. If you’ve got the knack, why not share it with the world?
- Start small,
- Ask your friends and your family.
Who knows?
Maybe one day you’ll be writing speeches for politicians or the next great novel writer. Or maybe you’ll just make someone cry happy tears with a simple poem.
Either way, it’s worth it, don’t you think?
So go on, give it a go. It might be messy and imperfect, but aren’t the best things in life always a bit like that?
Until next time!
